However, beneath its beauty lies danger. The lake’s water can reach temperatures of over 50°C, and its pH levels can rise above 10.5, making it extremely caustic. In rare cases, birds and small creatures that land on its surface become preserved by the minerals, turning into eerie, statue-like figures.
